How did Orgasmic Meditation come about?

I’ve always wondered this. So I went search through OMwiki for Erwan Davon and this post came up:

Hi Everyone! Erwan Davon here, I’ve been teaching Extended Orgasm, masculine feminine relating, and meditation since 1995. I introduced Nicole Daedone, the founder of OneTaste, to the practice of extended orgasm and stroking in general as a practice in 1998 when we dated. She started her teaching career in the field of sensuality and extended orgasm inside my business teaching the Pleasure Course. I’m giving a brief history because Alicia, my wife, and I have gotten hundreds of requests for the history over the years. This has recently increased as Nicole, at my request, has started to more fully elucidate the history of where she started teaching extended orgasm and stroking. I’ll start with Nicole because many of you have experience with OneTaste. I will also touch on several other groups briefly toward the end of this post because members of the page have asked us to include them.

Nicole gives a beautiful account of her first stroking date in a variety of articles and books. She mentions that we met at a party and sometimes calls me a Buddhist Monk in those accounts because I spent time on and off living in a Zen Monastery, Green Dragon Temple in Marin. Hence the photo!

Shortly after introducing Nicole to the Extended Orgasm stroking practice in 1998, we lived together near Golden Gate park in 1999, but had different partners. That was the first time she asked to teach the Pleasure Course with me, and she taught a single Pleasure Course with me that year. At her request we later reconnected in 2002 in Hawaii, camping of all things (those of you who know us might have difficulty picturing Nicole and I camping!). We also visited the Hawaii location of More University (a pioneer in the field of extended orgasm).

I continued to teach the Pleasure Course and the enterprise became quite successful. I rebranded the name several times, originally it was “The Community Experience”, then “Beyond Education” and later “Erwan Davon Teachings” but the “Pleasure Course” has always remained the flagship course where I introduced people to the Extended Orgasm stroking practice, as well as meditation and masculine feminine relationship skills.

In 2003 Nicole asked to teach with me again, I accepted, and we taught the Pleasure Course together from April to October 2003 in Brisbane just outside of San Francisco where we ran two communal houses. It was truly a far out time that included communal living dynamics and having a wild ride of a relationship with Nicole. I stroked her for her first one-hour demonstration of orgasm. Watching the video recently brought tears to my eyes.

To my knowledge teaching the Pleasure Course was her first experience teaching sensuality oriented seminars. Teaching an extended orgasm stroking practice had been a part of my life for nearly a decade prior to us teaching together in 2003 and it was fun bringing her into that world. Shortly after that she founded OneTaste. Although Alicia and I approach the educational process differently from Nicole, my hat is off to her for having reached so many people and so many women being interacted with sexually in a more loving and sophisticated way.

I started this post talking about Nicole because many of you have experience with OneTaste and because most of the published accounts are not complete and in many cases are not accurate. As to why, I could speculate but for me it is more important that the truth is coming out and to focus on that. For our friends and people who have been around our organizations for a long time it’s no secret I left Nicole as a relationship partner and as a business partner for personal and professional reasons. I appreciate her recent Facebook posts and elucidation of our history. Although we have had our ups and downs and run our enterprises differently there has always been a lot of love in the background.

The greatest influences on me as a teacher have been Zen Buddhism, my degree in psychology & receiving 15 years of psychoanalysis, Landmark Education, More University and Diamond Heart. Since this is a page dedicated to OMing and other related practices, I’ll focus on sensuality based organizations.
In the early to mid 90’s I took many courses with More University. They are the ones who turned me on to the idea of extended orgasm and pleasure as a worthwhile goal. In 1995, Nicky (the first girlfriend I taught the Pleasure Course with) and I ran a Mark Group (a More game group) out of our bedroom! We had up to 44 people per group – the room was packed! Jim and Judy Corey (More University teachers who had been leading the group previously) suggested we take over leading the group and start leading courses ourselves. I also took courses with the Welcomed Consensus. Their curriculum was basically the same as More University’s with the titles of programs changed. At the time there seemed to be some disagreement between the two organizations and when all was said and done I would have to say I had a better experience at More. Please forgive my brevity, as most of this was 15-20 years ago.

I want to conclude by saying that I am very impressed with this OMwiki page and its inclusiveness of people’s vast range of experience and opinion. We’ve been asked to clarify our practice by a member of the page more than calling it Extended Orgasm. Since we have been calling it that for a couple of decades I don’t want to totally change that but am happy to call it Extended Orgasm as taught by Erwan Davon or simply EO as it is often called. I look forward to participating on this page and I am open to any questions you have about our history, the stroking practice or anything else!
